Creating events for Clients...

That is what REF is currently (trying) to do with the help from CATO a Sport Event ORganizer.
But after months of working, hundreds of hours meeting, countless minutes wasted on creating the perfect one, the client finally disapprove.

Here's the funny part.
The disapprove everything that they we're asking from us

1. They complained about the budget. Which was originally low (5 hundred million) but became big when they started to ask for more promotion. Which jumped to about 1.5 billion).
And then they ask for a Big Bang opening, liked the concept we were giving and the budget jumepd high to a bout 2.5 billion.

Suddenly they say, "I want an event that'll cost me 5 hundred million"
Im like "Helloo - ooo?"

2. We went and forth numerous times. Maybe more than 6 times. Along the way the both of us (REF and client) created together a concept which we finally name 3KINGS.
And then after like 3months of working, suddenly they say
"We wanted a concept that is more Sales oriented instead of Branding oriented"
We're like "DUH!? Where were you all those 3 months? Why wait till the final dicision day and say things like this?"

The thing is
REF Basketball Clothing performed EXCELLENT.
We are always on time. Often times early.
We were NEVER late. On deadlines or on meetings.
We busted our ass creating all this.
The client on the other hand is ...
Disapointing.
Confusing.
Didnt perform well.
I think they even fail.
Fail to convince their Bosses in supporting the event.

But hey, we know better.
REF knows what to do.
We aint hurt.

AS long as there are possibilities for us to still make events, we'll do.
They gave us markings now. Targets. Focus.
That's good.

But we're also smarter.
Now we have lotsa choices

1. We'll revise the 3KINGS concept. So that all those hardwork wouldnt just go down the drain.
2. We are in a position to create new, so we'll create new. A concept that would fit client's expectation.
3. We can go the another branch. The one in Bandung. No attachments now, we're free to go elsewhere. So we'll do it.

Maybe some will ask:
"Why do you keep going?"

Well, its simple:
"Its' worth it"


Its worth the money profit
Its worth the experience
Its worth the awareness
Its worth a lot.

"E + Rct = Res !!! "

That is the math of life.

E is Events
plus
Rct which is Reaction
equalls
Res which stands for Result.

Event + Reaction = Result.

Lemme ask u a question, How do you control events?
Im talking about events which occured in your life.
Life, deaths, accidents, economical or political mayhem, the new president, war, and the list could go on.
How do you control that?
Answer is, you cant.
God, controls that. That is life.

And how do you control Result?
How do you make sure that what ever happens in the future for you, is exactly like you wanted it to be...

You cant.
God has something to do with that.
That is life.

Now REACTION.
That's where we can play.

WE decide what we should react from the events that happens in our life.
Our reaction, has something to do with the Result.

If we reacted slow, the results would be different than if we have reacted fast.
If the events in our life turns out that your business fails you.
How do you react?
Would you weep and decided that maybe business isnt just for you?
Or would you stand up, and start over again?
How do you react?

The Result, would reflect your reaction.

So how do you win in life?

How i ran over my own company

They say i move to fast for the company that i ran over it.
They say i left others behind me.

The team leader asked me to slow down.

I told them i was pulling them
I told them " Phil Jackson would never told Michael not to make 56 points, 45 points, because he knows Michael was helping the team, which didnt perform well"

Everybody has their hands down on every subject in the company.
I never interfere with theirs.
Yet i see us being stucked in a place that we can't get out of.

well i can pull them out.
I know how to make us run.
I'll do it from my own departement.

The company is not systematics oriented (the way it has been performing so far)
It's not sales oriented (the way sales has been diving right now)
It's not production oriented (the way products quality was never satisfying)
It's not people oriented (because we couldnt fill the need for motivation by our employees)

So i'll make it Marketing Oriented.
I'll run it from my own responsibility.

Hell i wont make it run

I'll make it fly

Nobody said its gonna be easy

I told Marino once

Everything i planned (which you can read on previous blogs) didnt really worked out as planned.
REF is still having problems
I cant really indicate wether the problem is people not knowing who we are which means its a n Awareness problem, or maybe people are aware but choose not to shop at REF which makes it a Preference problem, or people knows REF, chooses REF but is not encouraged to buy and makes it a Marketing problem.

I have to look it thoroughly.
I have to think it through.

Right now it's a fog ahead of me.
I can see answers across, yet i cant see it clearly.
Should i wait, or run across?

No body said it's gonna be easy

Counting Down the Days

As it gets closer, REF BASKETBALL CLOTHING's 1 st STORE is making me pumped up
Im so ready to roll with this.

Most of the Books i read wasnt even bought.
I go to the bookstores, QB and Kinokuniya bringing my pen and my notepad.
I took one book from the shelves, sat on a couch, read and taking notes.
Im learning for free
:)

I mean come on! Most of those books are expensive.
I dont have the luxury to buy books, i'd rather give my money to my mom, dad, sis, bro and future wife :)

I also watched The Apprentice 1st season over and over again. Looking it as a 13 episode MBA

So now im packed with knowledge and ideas.
My hands are sweaty dying to have a taste of the streets
I wanna perform
I wanna work on my business

I know im probably the only one having enough time to do all those things i did
To think how i think.
Some are distracted on other things
Things that are equally important.
I dont blame em
I'll help em
They can work at ease and not worry cause i'll bang up so hard and work on our success.
They'll have their report on the table.
And a Fresh Coffee :)

I have this idea of using Buzz Marketing to help Boost REF Store's Sale
REF has to has a Market Tease, something that'll make cutomer intrigued and buzz about us
I thought that we had to be very close to our cutomers in giving away messages. Its had to be very personal
Something that's on their own premises, within their circle of comfort.
The customers onlybelieve in self experience.
So i developed and idea of using SMS Chains as a way to Spread news. Those that recieved a message from REF (or forward unto) gets a fair 20% discount.
Another way is using E mails. Similar to the SMS methode, I'd chain the E Mail and ask the recipient to forward the mail to another 10 person. One of those e mail address was our own, so that it would bounce back to us and we'd know who has been sending / forwarding to more 10 e mails.

Every 10 emails = 20% discount / item
So that means if someone send it to lets say 30 e mail address, he/she deserves a 20% discount on 3 items. not bad huh?

Its a win win thing, i'd get my message and promotion, they'd have their discount, more people buying our products, and more people will be wearing it.
And when you have a lot of people wearing REF, its a means of Promotion itself!!!

To Top it all, im gonna Burn my Potential buyers's mind with BTL and ATL
Radio Adlibs and Spots are going to dominate on 2 of the best radio in the city and Flyers are to be handed on every possible place we can think of.

The idea is mass promotion!

They check their SMS, theyd find REF
They check their E Mail, theyd find REF
They listen to the radio they'll find REF
On the streets and at their hands they'll see REF

After that, its down to Marketing.
I've a plan ready to implement.
Its a sweepstakes/ games kinda thing
Everyday REF Store is going to have theming.
Different them each month with different Marketing Program
Design to raise traffic in store.
Hope its gonna work.

Does it hafta be like that?

I read this article on the net.
It has this 10 dilemmas in Leadership.

One of it states: The more you hit success, the more cheaptalks storms in.
Or something like that.

I mean, i know that already. Im pretty much aware of that.
I was ready for it, hell i even thought that those fuckin cheaptalk is part of my price tag as a leader.

But then if i were ready, why does it still SUCK!?

Goddamn, man it feels like you're being stabbed from everyside and all you can do is watch!!!
And what can you do about it?
I mean where do you go with it?

All i can do is talk about it with my lady but rest for sure, it aint gone.
